...NO SVR TSTM AREAS FORECAST...

...PACIFIC NW...

WEAK INSTABILITY PERSISTS ALONG THE NW PACIFIC COAST THIS EVENING
WITHIN DEEPER CYCLONIC FLOW REGIME. 00Z SOUNDINGS FROM UIL/MFR
CLEARLY SUPPORT THE POTENTIAL FOR DEEPER CONVECTIVE ELEMENTS AS
LAPSE RATES ARE FAIRLY STEEP THROUGH AT LEAST 5KM. GIVEN THE
ONSHORE FLOW AND PROXIMITY TO MARINE LAYER IT APPEARS A FEW UPDRAFTS
COULD PRODUCE LIGHTNING FROM NWRN WA INTO NWRN CA.

...ELSEWHERE...

00Z SOUNDING FROM TUS IS QUITE DRY WITH MEAGER INSTABILITY PRIMARILY
DUE TO A VERY STEEP LAPSE RATE THROUGH 700MB. EVEN SO NUMEROUS
SHOWERS HAVE DEVELOPED AHEAD OF SHORT WAVE TROUGH AND ISOLATED
LIGHTNING IS OCCURRING ACROSS MARICOPA AND PINAL COUNTIES. WITH
LOSS OF DAYTIME HEATING THESE UPDRAFTS SHOULD WEAKEN AND LESSON THE
THREAT OF TSTMS.
