WIDTH 1/4 MILE AND MAXIMUM WINDS 100 MPH. TORNADO SPUNUP
WITHIN A 2-MILE LONG AND TWO-MILE WIDE DOWNBURST PATH.
COMBINED DAMAGED FROM THE DOWNBURST AND TORNADO CONSISTED
OF DESTRUCTION OF SEVERAL BUILDINGS AND SHEDS. HUNDREDS
OF TREES WERE FLATTED ALONG THE PATH OF THE TORNADO.

CUSSETA AND TRACKED EAST-SOUTHEAST FOR APPROXIMATELY FOUR
MILES. MAXIMUM PATH WIDTH 100 YARDS AND MAXIMUM WINDS 80
MPH. AT LEAST TWO HOMES AND ONE CHURCH WERE DAMAGED ALONG
THE TORNADO PATH. SEVERAL SHEDS WERE DAMAGED OR
DESTROYED.

MOBILE HOME WAS ALSO LEVELED...WITH MINOR DAMAGE TO TWO
OTHER HOMES. A LARGE SWATH OF PECAN TREES IN AN ORCHARD
WERE FLATTENED.

SUMTER AND CRISP COUNTIES. MAXIMUM PATH WIDTH ESTIMATED
TO BE 200 YARDS WITH MAXIMUM WINDS 100 MPH. WITHIN SUMTER
COUNTY...45 HOMES WERE DAMAGED AND ONE WAS DESTROYED.
DAMAGE WAS LARGELY THE RESULT OF FALLEN LARGE PINE TREES.
AROUND 100 TREES AND MANY POWER LINES WERE DOWN ALONG THE
23-MILE LONG TORNADO PATH THROUGH THE TWO COUNTIES.

PATH OF THE TORNADO...AGAIN MOSTLY FROM DOWNED TREES.
