SPARTA AND CULVERTON. ONE 4000 SQ. FT. SITE-BUILT
TWO-STORY HOME COMPLETELY DESTROYED WITH DEBRIS STREWN
OVER 400 FT. ONE SERIOUS INJURY AT THIS HOME. ANOTHER
MOBILE HOME WAS ALSO LEVELED...WITH MINOR DAMAGE TO TWO
OTHER HOMES. A LARGE SWATH OF PECAN TREES IN AN ORCHARD
WERE FLATTENED.

SUMTER COUNTY AND CROSSED INTO CRISP COUNTY ACROSS LAKE
BLACKSHEAR. TOTAL TORNADO PATH WAS 23 MILES THROUGH
SUMTER AND CRISP COUNTIES. MAXIMUM PATH WIDTH ESTIMATED
TO BE 200 YARDS WITH MAXIMUM WINDS 100 MPH. WITHIN SUMTER
COUNTY...45 HOMES WERE DAMAGED AND ONE WAS DESTROYED.
DAMAGE WAS LARGELY THE RESULT OF FALLEN LARGE PINE TREES.
AROUND 100 TREES AND MANY POWER LINES WERE DOWN ALONG THE
23-MILE LONG TORNADO PATH THROUGH THE TWO COUNTIES.

CROSSED LAKE BLACKSHEAR AND INTO CRISP COUNTY AND
CONTINUED ON A SPORADIC PATH ACROSS THE CENTRAL PART OF
THE COUNTY TO HATLEY...JUST SHY OF THE WILCOX COUNTY
LINE. MAXIMUM PATH WIDTH WAS ESTIMATED TO BE 200 YARDS
WITH MAXIMUM WINDS OF 100 MPH. ALTHOUGH THE TORNADO
ENTERED THE COUNTY AS AN EF1...IT DIMINISHED TO AN EF0 AS
IT CROSSED THE LAKE. TWENTY HOMES WERE DAMAGED ALONG THE
PATH OF THE TORNADO...AGAIN MOSTLY FROM DOWNED TREES.
