SPRAY RING VISIBLE ON THE SEA SURFACE IN NORTHWEST
CHANNEL...ABOUT 8 MILES NORTH-NORTHWEST OF KEY WEST
HARBOR. THE WATERSPOUT WAS ALSO SEEN BY OBSERVERS AT BOCA
CHICA NAVAL AIR STATION...KEY WEST INTERNATIONAL
AIRPORT...AND HERE AT THE FORECAST OFFICE. MOVEMENT WAS
TOWARD THE WEST-SOUTHWEST AT AROUND 5 KNOTS. DURATION 12
MINUTES.

0115 PM WATER SPOUT 5 N SUGARLOAF KEY 24.70N 81.55W
06/19/2007 GMZ032 FL TRAINED SPOTTER

A LARGE AND MATURE WATERSPOUT WAS REPORTED ABOUT A HALF
MILE NORTH OF THE NORTH END OF SUGARLOAF KEY. LITTLE
MOVEMENT WAS DETECTED. DURATION 17 MINUTES. THE
WATERSPOUT WAS OBSERVED BY A TRAINED SPOTTER ON CUDJOE
KEY. A REPORT OF THE SAME WATERSPOUT WAS ALSO RECEIVED
FROM MILE MARKER 15 BY THE MONROE COUNTY SHERIFFS
DEPARTMENT.

A SNORKEL BOAT MATE REPORTED A MATURE WATERSPOUT ABOUT 14
MILES WEST-NORTHWEST OF KEY WEST HARBOR. MOVEMENT AND
DURATION UNKNOWN.

A SNORKEL BOAT MATE REPORTED THREE MATURE WATERSPOUTS
WITH SPRAY RINGS 5 OR 6 MILES WEST OF KEY WEST HARBOR.
THE WATERSPOUTS WERE LOCATED ALONG THE NORTHERN EDGE OF A
THUNDERSTORM...PROBABLY ALONG AN OUTFLOW BOUNDARY.
MOVEMENT AND DURATION UNKNOWN.

A LONG CUMULUS CONGESTUS CLOUD LINE WHICH HAD PERSISTED SINCE JUST
AFTER SUNRISE...SPAWNED AT LEAST SIX MATURE /NONSUPERCELL/
WATERSPOUTS BETWEEN 1230 PM AND 330 PM EDT. THE CLOUD LINE DEVELOPED
AN ENE-WSW ORIENTATION...PARALLEL...IMMEDIATELY NORTH OF...AND
DOWNWIND OF THE LOWER FLORIDA KEYS. PRECIPITATION FIRST OCCURRED IN
ASSOCIATION WITH THE CLOUD LINE AROUND 1230 PM EDT...AND THUNDER WAS
FIRST DETECTED JUST BEFORE 300 PM EDT.
