PLUME OF SUBTROPICAL MOISTURE CONTINUES SPREADING NWD THROUGH SRN CA
AND AZ IN ADVANCE OF SHORTWAVE TROUGH THAT IS MOVING ENEWD TOWARD
THE BAJA AREA. SUBSTANTIAL COOLING AND STEEPENING LAPSE RATES WILL
OCCUR IN THE 700-400 MB LAYER AS THIS FEATURE EJECTS INTO THE SWRN
STATES LATER TONIGHT. THIS WILL RESULT IN DESTABILIZATION AND AN
INCREASING CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS EMBEDDED WITHIN A BROADER AREA
OF RAIN AND SHOWERS.

..NY...

ISOLATED LIGHTNING STRIKES WILL REMAIN POSSIBLE WITH LAKE EFFECT
BANDS OFF OF LAKE ONTARIO AND LAKE EERIE NEXT FEW HOURS.
HOWEVER...COVERAGE THE REMAINDER OF TONIGHT IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN
LESS THAN 10%.
