THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF
MUCH OF SOUTHERN AND EASTERN ARKANSAS
PARTS OF SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
PARTS OF SOUTHEASTERN MISSOURI
EFFECTIVE THIS WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 1250 PM UNTIL
800 PM CST.
TORNADOES...HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND
GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE
AREAS.
THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 80 STATUTE
MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 30 MILES NORTH OF CAPE
GIRARDEAU MISSOURI TO 70 MILES SOUTH OF HOT SPRINGS ARKANSAS.

REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR

AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.
DISCUSSION...AIR MASS AHEAD OF STRONG COLD FRONT HAS CONTINUED TO
DESTABILIZE WITH STORMS NOW DEVELOPING. WITH SHEAR PROFILES

MAX FROM CENTRAL PLAINS...POTENTIAL FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS
