LIGHT TO OCCASIONALLY MODERATE SNOW WITH LOCALIZED SNOW RATES OF 1
INCH PER HOUR ARE POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON.
LOW LEVEL FLOW EMANATING FROM SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE OVER ERN NEB/WRN
IA AND SURFACE LOW PRESSURE DEEPENING OVER ERN NM IS RESULTING IN
CONFLUENT UPSLOPE FLOW OVER THE WRN HIGH PLAINS. CURRENT WATER
VAPOR IMAGERY SHOWS THE SHORTWAVE TROUGH OVER ERN AZ/WRN NM IS NO
LONGER DIGGING AND IS BEGINNING ITS NEWD TRAJECTORY TOWARD THE WRN
PLAINS. AS THE SHORTWAVE TROUGH AND ASSOCIATED MID/UPPER LEVEL JET
EXIT REGION APPROACH THE PANHANDLE AREA AROUND 21 UTC...LARGE-SCALE
ASCENT FORMS/INCREASES FROM NERN NM...SERN CO...INTO WRN KS AND THE
PANHANDLES. ELY/SELY SURFACE WINDS SHOULD INCREASE SLIGHTLY AS THE
SURFACE LOW SHIFTS INTO WEST TX BY LATE TODAY. WITH SURFACE
TEMPERATURES WELL BELOW FREEZING AND A VERTICAL PROFILE THAT
SUPPORTS DENDRITIC CRYSTAL GROWTH AND A MODERATELY LOW SNOW
DENSITY...LIGHT /SNOW RATES 0.5 INCH PER HOUR/ AND OCCASIONALLY
MODERATE SNOW /SNOW RATES OF 1 INCH PER HOUR/ OVER ERN CO/WRN KS
WILL SPREAD SEWD DURING THE AFTERNOON.
