WILDFIRE ESTIMATED 300 TO 400 ACRES FIRE WAS STOPPED
NEAR COUNTY ROAD G AND COUNTY ROAD 15 AN OLD BARN WAS
DESTROYED BUT NO INJURIES WILDFIRE REPORTED UNDER
CONTROL BY 1430 CST

01/05/2008 E2600 ACRE HUTCHINSON TX FIRE DEPT/RESCUE

MORE THAN SEVEN FIRE DEPARTMENT UNITS RESPONDED TO THE
WILDFIRE AND THE WILDFIRE WAS REPORTEDLY UNDER CONTROL
AROUND 1730 HOURS CST. OFFICIALS SAID THE FIRE BURNED
ABOUT 2600 ACROES. THE CAUSE WAS DETERMINED TO BE ARSON.
26 PEOPLE WERE EVACUATED...HOWEVER NO INJURIES OR
DAMAGES WERE REPORTED. THE FIRE STARTED ON FARM TO
MARKET ROAD 687 ABOUT ONE MILE NORTH OF TEXAS STATE
HIGHWAY 136 AND SPREAD TO THE EAST AND NORTHEAST AND
ENDED UP CLOSE TO FARM TO MARKET ROAD 1319.

01/06/2008 E300 ACRE HUTCHINSON TX FIRE DEPT/RESCUE

*** 2 INJ *** WILDFIRE STARTED AT WINDSONG ROAD AND
TEXAS HIGHWAY 136. THE FIRE MOVED 35 MPH AND BURNED TWO
AND A HALF MILES OF OPEN RANGE...APPROXIMATELY 300
ACRES. THE FIRE WAS CONTAINED BEFORE REACHING THE
MEADOWLARK HILL HOUSING DIVISION NEAR BORGER. PEOPLE
WERE ASKED TO EVACUATE THEIR HOMES AND SOME FENCING WAS
DAMAGED. ALSO SAID HWY 136 WAS PARTIALLY CLOSED NEAR
MEADOWLARK HILL WITH ONLY 2 LANES OF TRAFFIC OPEN...BUT
THE FIRE WAS PUT OUT AS OF 4 PM WITH NO FURTHER ROAD
CLOSURES. COUPLE OF FIREFIGHTERS WERE INJURED. ONE
PERSON WAS TREATED FOR SMOKE INHALATION.
