CONCERNING...FREEZING RAIN

VALID 251356Z - 251800Z

FREEZING RAIN AND DRIZZLE WILL LIKELY PERSIST THROUGH THE MORNING
ACROSS PARTS OF THE ARKLATEX. GLAZE RATES OF UP TO 0.05 INCH PER
HOUR APPEAR POSSIBLE NOW THAT ATMOSPHERE HAS SATURATED IN LOW
LEVELS. TOTAL ICING SHOULD REMAIN UNDER 0.25 INCH THROUGH NOON CST.

ISENTROPIC UPGLIDE AND WEAK LARGE SCALE ASCENT APPEAR TO BE
COINCIDING WITH AN AREA OF GREATER LOW LEVEL MOISTURE INFLOW ACROSS
THE ARKLATEX THIS MORNING. THE RESULTING LIGHT PRECIPITATION WILL
CONTINUE TO FALL THROUGH A 5C WARM NOSE AROUND 800MB AND INTO A
SUBFREEZING SURFACE-BASED AIR MASS THAT HAS GRADUALLY SATURATED
EARLY THIS MORNING. UPSTREAM RADAR AND OBSERVATIONS SUGGEST AT LEAST
ANOTHER COUPLE MORE HOURS OF LIGHT FREEZING RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE.
HOURLY AND TOTAL AMOUNTS SHOULD REMAIN QUITE LIGHT GIVEN ONLY WEAK
FORCING. HOWEVER...ROAD AND OVERPASSES MAY REMAIN SLICK THROUGH
NOONTIME IN SOME AREAS.
