04/04/2008 F1 RANKIN MS NWS STORM SURVEY

THE TORNADO TRACKED OUT OF HINDS COUNTY AND CONTINUED FOR
6.5 MILES ACROSS RANKIN COUNTY. THE HIGHEST RATED DAMAGE
OCCURED IN THE AVALON SUBDIVISION AND ALONG MANSHIP ROAD.
MAXIMUM WINDS IN RANKIN COUNTY WERE 105 MPH AND MAXIMUM
WIDTH WAS ONE-HALF MILE. EXTENSIVE STRAIGHT LINE WIND
DAMAGE OCCURRED SOUTH OF THE TORNADO TRACK.

04/04/2008 MADISON MS NWS STORM SURVEY

STORM DAMAGE ACROSS RIDGELAND WAS DETERMINED TO BE
STRAIGHT LINE WINDS IN THE 80 TO 90 MPH RANGE. DAMAGE WAS
SPORADIC AND GENERALLY TO THE EAST.

04/04/2008 F2 HINDS MS NWS STORM SURVEY

*** 20 INJ *** THE TORNADO INITIALLY TOUCHED DOWN NEAR
THE INTERSECTION OF LIVINGSTON ROAD AND COUNTY LINE ROAD.
IT THEN TRACKED EAST-SOUTHEAST ACROSS THE NORTH SIDE OF
JACKSON ALL THE WAY TO THE PEARL RIVER AND INTO RANKIN
COUNTY. THE HIGHEST RATED DAMAGE WAS EXTENSIVE ROOF
DAMAGE TO SEVERAL APARTMENTS...DAMAGE TO TWO
WAREHOUSES...AND EXTENSIVE TREE DAMAGE.THE TORNADO WAS
RATED EF2 WITH MAXIMUM WINDS OF 115 MPH. THE PATH LENGTH
IN HINDS COUNTY WAS 6.5 MILES AND MAXIMUM WIDTH WAS 900
YARDS.
