THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

EASTERN COLORADO
FAR WESTERN KANSAS

EFFECTIVE THIS TUESDAY MORNING FROM 130 AM UNTIL 900 AM MDT.

HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 60
MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 60
STATUTE MILES EITHER SIDE OF A LINE FROM 50 MILES SOUTH SOUTHEAST
OF BURLINGTON COLORADO TO 35 MILES SOUTHWEST OF AKRON COLORADO.

REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE

AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.

STRONG LOW-LEVEL VEERING MAY CONTINUE TO FOSTER LOW-LEVEL STORM
ROTATION AND THE POTENTIAL FOR AN ISOLD TORNADO...BUT ESTIMATED
DEGREE OF INSTABILITY AND RATHER MODERATE UNIDIRECTIONAL MID-LVL
FLOW SUGGEST PRIMARY THREAT SHOULD BE LARGE HAIL.

AVIATION...A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL SURFACE AND ALOFT
TO 2 INCHES. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND GUSTS TO 50
