BASE OF THE ERN U.S. LONG WAVE TROUGH OVER THE CENTRAL/ERN GULF
STATES THIS FORECAST PERIOD. ASCENT AND COLD MID LEVEL TEMPERATURES
/-25 TO -30 C AT 500 MB/ ACCOMPANYING THIS IMPULSE WILL SPREAD
ACROSS RELATIVELY WARM GULF WATERS AND CONTINUE TO PROMOTE DEEP
CONVECTION OVER THE NERN GULF. THE POTENTIAL FOR ADDITIONAL
OFFSHORE TSTMS SHOULD END BY 09Z AS THE SHORT WAVE TROUGH MOVES EWD
INTO SERN GA. A COOLER...MORE STABLE AIR MASS ALONG AND INLAND FROM
THE COAST SHOULD LIMIT THE TSTM THREAT TO OFFSHORE WATERS.
