...NO SVR TSTM AREAS FORECAST...

AN UPPER-LEVEL TROUGH WILL MOVE EWD OVER THE INTERMOUNTAIN WEST
TONIGHT AS A POWERFUL LOW-LEVEL JET STRENGTHENS IN THE GREAT PLAINS.
A MUCH SMALLER LOW-LEVEL JET IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN THE BASE OF THE
TROUGH OVER SRN CA...SRN NV AND NW AZ. THIS FEATURE ALONG WITH
STRONG LARGE-SCALE ASCENT AND COLD TEMPS ALOFT ASSOCIATED WITH THE
UPPER-LEVEL TROUGH ARE SUPPORTING ISOLATED TO SCATTERED
THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE DESERT SOUTHWEST. THIS ACTIVITY MAY EXPAND
EWD INTO NCNTRL AZ OVERNIGHT. LIGHTNING STRIKES WILL ALSO BE
POSSIBLE ALONG THE COASTS OF CA AND WA THIS EVENING BEFORE THE
UPPER-LEVEL TROUGH MOVES FURTHER INLAND. ELSEWHERE...A STRONG WARM
ADVECTION REGIME IS IN PLACE ACROSS THE LOWER AND MID-MS VALLEY. AS
LOW-LEVEL MOISTURE INCREASES TONIGHT...LIFT ASSOCIATED WITH THE
LOW-LEVEL JET MAY SUPPORT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT IN THE
LOWER MS VALLEY LATE THIS EVENING AND IN THE MID-MS VALLEY TO LOWER
OH VALLEY DURING THE OVERNIGHT PERIOD.
