VALLEYS AS AN UPPER-LEVEL TROUGH MOVES TOWARD SRN CA TODAY AND
INLAND ACROSS THE DESERT SOUTHWEST TONIGHT. ISOLATED TO SCATTERED
THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS CA AND A LARGE
PART OF THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST DUE TO COLD AIR ALOFT AND STEEP
MID-LEVEL LAPSE RATES IN THE CORE OF THE UPPER-LEVEL TROUGH. THIS
ACTIVITY SHOULD REMAIN BELOW SEVERE LIMITS. ELSEWHERE ACROSS THE
CONUS...THUNDERSTORMS ARE NOT EXPECTED TODAY OR TONIGHT.
