DAY 3 CONVECTIVE OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
0104 AM CST TUE MAR 02 2010

VALID 041200Z - 051200Z

AN UPPER-LEVEL LOW OVER THE WRN STATES IS FORECAST TO MOVE ACROSS
THE INTERMOUNTAIN WEST THURSDAY. AHEAD OF THE SYSTEM...A LOW-LEVEL
JET WILL STRENGTHEN IN THE GREAT PLAINS BUT THE MODELS FAIL TO
RETURN MOISTURE NWD DUE TO THE RELATIVELY DRY AIRMASS IN PLACE
ACROSS THE WRN GULF OF MEXICO. THE MAIN POTENTIAL FOR THUNDERSTORMS
WILL EXIST ACROSS NRN UT THURSDAY AFTERNOON AS THE UPPER-LEVEL LOW
CROSSES THE REGION DUE TO SFC HEATING AND COLD AIR ALOFT. THE
CONVECTION SHOULD NOT BE SEVERE DUE TO LIMITED INSTABILITY.
ELSEWHERE...THUNDERSTORMS ARE NOT EXPECTED ACROSS THE CONUS THURSDAY
OR THURSDAY NIGHT.

..BROYLES.. 03/02/2010
