THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN FLORIDA
COASTAL WATERS

EFFECTIVE THIS SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY MORNING FROM 1130 PM UNTIL
700 AM EDT.

TORNADOES...HAIL TO 1 INCH IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS
TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 70 STATUTE
MILES EITHER SIDE OF A LINE FROM 25 MILES SOUTH OF SARASOTA
FLORIDA TO 35 MILES NORTH NORTHEAST OF MELBOURNE FLORIDA. FOR A

REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR
TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.

THUNDERSTORM WATCH NUMBER 106. WATCH NUMBER 106 WILL NOT BE IN
EFFECT AFTER 1130 PM EDT.

OF EARLIER STORMS. ASSOCIATED SELY NEAR-SFC FLOW...COUPLED WITH
SLOWLY INCREASING SW TO WSWLY LOW TO MID LVL FLOW...IS RESULTING IN
HODOGRAPHS FAVORABLE FOR LOW LVL STORM ROTATION ACROSS REGION /REF
TPA VWP/. SATELLITE LOOP SUGGESTS THAT AREA WILL RECEIVE GLANCING
INFLUENCE OF PASSING SHORTWAVE DISTURBANCE NOW CROSSING THE NRN
GULF...WITH ASSOCIATED ASCENT LIKELY RESPONSIBLE /IN PART/ FOR
ON-GOING STORMS OFF THE W CNTRL FL CST. OVERALL SETUP MAY THEREFORE
SUPPORT ISOLD TORNADOES...BOTH WITH EXISTING STORMS OVER LAND...AND
WITH ACTIVITY LIKELY TO MOVE ASHORE LATER TONIGHT/EARLY MON.

AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 1 INCH. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND
