DAY 4-8 CONVECTIVE OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
0358 AM CDT TUE MAY 11 2010

VALID 141200Z - 191200Z

...DISCUSSION...
LATE WEEK AND WEEKEND UPR FLOW REGIME IS EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY
FLATTEN AS ENERGY IS EJECTED FROM THE NRN PLAINS AND WRN STATES.
EVENTUALLY...AN ERN PAC TROUGH IS EXPECTED TO EVOLVE...FORCING A
DOWNSTREAM UPR RIDGE ACROSS THE CNTRL STATES AND A DIGGING ERN
STATES TROUGH THROUGH MID-NEXT WEEK. BUILDING PRESSURES ACROSS THE
NRN TIER OF THE COUNTRY WILL FORCE THE BAROCLINIC ZONE SLOWLY SWD
EACH DAY...EVENTUALLY INTO THE SERN/SRN STATES. THERE WILL BE TSTM
EPISODES THE LENGTH OF THE FRONT THROUGHOUT THE PERIOD...ESPECIALLY
ALONG WRN EXTENTS IN TX WHERE SOME SVR WEATHER IS POSSIBLE AMIDST
STEEPER LAPSE RATES. HOWEVER...WEAKENING SHEAR PROFILES THROUGHOUT
THE COUNTRY SHOULD PRECLUDE A HIGHER-END REGIONAL SVR OUTBREAK.
