DAY 4-8 CONVECTIVE OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
0349 AM CDT WED MAY 26 2010

VALID 291200Z - 031200Z

...SVR STORMS POSSIBLE ACROSS THE N CNTRL HIGH PLAINS SATURDAY...

CONSIDERABLE VARIABILITY PERSISTS AMONG THE MODELS/MODEL ENSEMBLES
CONCERNING SHORT WAVE DEVELOPMENTS ACROSS THE NORTHERN AND CENTRAL
U.S. SUBSEQUENT TO THE EVOLUTION OF A STRENGTHENING MORE ZONAL FLOW
REGIME ACROSS THE PACIFIC LATE THIS WEEK INTO THE MEMORIAL DAY
WEEKEND. HOWEVER...GUIDANCE CONTINUES TO INDICATE A REASONABLY HIGH
PROBABILITY THAT ONE VIGOROUS SHORT WAVE IMPULSE WILL LIFT OUT OF
THE GREAT BASIN...ACROSS THE CENTRAL ROCKIES...ON SATURDAY. AND IT
SEEMS PROBABLE THAT THIS WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY SUFFICIENTLY STRONG
FORCING FOR UPWARD VERTICAL MOTION... STRENGTHENING VERTICAL SHEAR
AND DESTABILIZATION TO SUPPORT A SIGNIFICANT SEVERE THREAT ACROSS
THE NORTH CENTRAL HIGH PLAINS.
