AREAS AFFECTED...NRN INDIANA...NRN OH...EXTREME SERN LOWER MI...WRN
LAKE ERIE

CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 545...

VALID 282037Z - 282200Z

THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 545
CONTINUES.

A LINE OF STRONG/SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDS FROM EXTREME NRN PARTS
OF INDIANA AND NWRN OH TO THE NRN SHORE OF LAKE ERIE. RADAR SHOWS A
NUMBER OF EMBEDDED LEWPS/SMALL BOW ECHO SEGMENTS WHICH LIKELY
CONTAIN LOCALIZED DOWNBURST WINDS...AND THIS HAS BEEN SUBSTANTIATED
BY RECENT STORM REPORTS.

THE THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE TO MOVE THROUGH A VERY WARM AND UNSTABLE
AIR MASS WITH MLCAPE RANGING FROM 1500 J/KG OVER NERN OH TO 2500
J/KG OVER NRN INDIANA. WESTERLY UNIDIRECTIONAL FLOW WITH 30-40 KT
MID-LEVEL WINDS WILL MAINTAIN A KINEMATIC ENVIRONMENT SUPPORTIVE OF
BOW ECHO STRUCTURES WITHIN THE THUNDERSTORM LINE. WITH TIME...THE
STORMS WILL GRADUALLY BE MOVING INTO A LESS FAVORABLE WIND
ENVIRONMENT NEAR THE SRN EDGE OF THE WW WHERE WEAKER WINDS ALOFT
EXIST...AND IT IS UNCLEAR IF A NEW WW WILL BE NEEDED SOUTH OF WW
545.
