AN UPPER-LEVEL TROUGH OVER THE ROCKIES WILL MOVE INTO THE HIGH
PLAINS TONIGHT AS ANOTHER UPPER-LEVEL TROUGH OF SHORTER AMPLITUDE
MOVES ONTO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST COAST. MID-LEVEL MOISTURE
ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SYSTEM WITH STRONG LARGE-SCALE ASCENT AND COLD
TEMPS ALOFT COULD RESULT IN A FEW LIGHTNING STRIKES ALONG THE COAST
OF WA AND ORE THIS EVENING INTO THE OVERNIGHT PERIOD. ELSEWHERE
ACROSS THE CONUS....A FEW LIGHTNING STRIKES MAY OCCUR IN CO THIS
EVENING AROUND THE PALMER DIVIDE AND EWD TOWARD THE KS STATE-LINE
BUT COVERAGE IS NOT EXPECTED TO EXCEED 10 PERCENT.
