DAY 3 CONVECTIVE OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
0123 AM CST SAT JAN 22 2011

VALID 241200Z - 251200Z

AN UPPER-LEVEL TROUGH OVER THE CNTRL HIGH PLAINS WILL MOVE SEWD INTO
THE SRN PLAINS MONDAY. AHEAD OF THIS SYSTEM...ANOTHER UPPER-LEVEL
TROUGH OVER THE ARKLATEX IS FORECAST TO DEAMPLIFY MONDAY AND MOVE
SEWD INTO THE GULF COAST STATES. AHEAD OF THE UPPER-LEVEL
TROUGH...INCREASING LOW-LEVEL FLOW SHOULD BRING LOW-LEVEL MOISTURE
NWD INTO SE LA AND SRN MS ON MONDAY WHERE ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS MAY
DEVELOP. A BETTER CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS MAY EXIST MONDAY NIGHT AS
THE UPPER-LEVEL FORCING WITH THE TROUGH MOVES INTO THE REGION FROM
THE WEST. ALTHOUGH SFC DEWPOINTS SHOULD REACH THE 50S F IN THE MS
DELTA REGION...NAM FORECAST SOUNDINGS KEEP INSTABILITY WEAK MONDAY
NIGHT SUGGESTING A SEVERE THREAT IS QUESTIONABLE. DUE TO INSTABILITY
CONCERNS...WILL NOT INTRODUCE A SEVERE THREAT.
ELSEWHERE...THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY IS NOT EXPECTED MONDAY OR MONDAY
NIGHT ACROSS THE CONUS.

..BROYLES.. 01/22/2011
