04/15/2011 F2 HALE AL NWS STORM SURVEY

AN EF-2 TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN NEAR STATE HIGHWAY 14 AND
LIFTED NEAR STATE HIGHWAY 69. THERE WERE NO KNOWN
INJURIES...BUT ONE PERSON WAS TRAPPED IN AN OVERTURNED
MOBILE HOME FOR SEVERAL HOURS. THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT
DAMAGE TO WINDOWS AND THE ROOF OF A CHURCH AND MODERATE
ROOF DAMAGE OCCURED TO SEVERAL HOMES AND BUSINESSES.
SEVERAL HUNDRED TREES WERE SNAPPED AND UPROOTED. THE
DAMAGE PATH WAS 2.2 MILES AND THE MAX WIDTH WAS 700
YARDS. THE MAX WIND SPEEDS WERE 115 MPH.
