AN NWS STORM SURVEY CONFIRMED THAT AN EF-1 TORNADO WITH
WINDS BETWEEN 95 AND 100 MPH TOUCHED DOWN IN SOUTHEAST
BUTLER COUNTY. IT TOUCHED DOWN ABOUT 1.7 MILES WEST
NORTHWEST OF SUGAR GROVE NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF DIMPLE
AND BELCHER ROADS AT 126 PM EDT. THE TORNADO THEN
TRAVELED NORTHEAST TOWARD THE COMMUNITY OF NEEDMORE
WHERE THE MOST SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE OCCURRED TO A
RESIDENCE. IN THIS LOCATION...TREES WERE SNAPPED AND A
SECTION OF ROOF WAS REMOVED FROM THE HOME. ESTIMATED
WINDS AT THIS LOCATION

TOUCHED DOWN NEAR THE BUTLER AND GRAYSON COUNTY LINE IN
A FIELD IMMEDIATELY NORTH OF DOGCREEK ROAD. THE TORNADO
TRAVELLED EAST ACROSS RT 79 AND DISSIPATED CLOSE TO THE
INTERSECTION OF J. D. HUDSON ROAD AND COATES ROAD. THE
PATH LENGTH WAS APPROXIMATELY THREE MILES WITH A WIDTH
OF 125 YARDS. MAXIMUM WIND SPEED WAS ESTIMATED AT 100
MPH.

SOUTHWEST GRAYSON COUNTY WITH WINDS AROUND 100 MPH. THE
TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN IN CANEYVILLE NEAR THE INTERSECTION
OF NORTH MAIN STREET AND RIVER PARK DRIVE. THE TORNADO
TRAVELED EAST THROUGH THE CANEYVILLE MILLING COMPANY AND
FINIALLY LIFTED APPROXIMATEDLY ONE MILE EAST OF
CANEYVILLE. THE PATH LENGTH WAS APPROXIMATELY ONE MILE
WITH A WIDTH OF 100-200 YARDS.

PATH WIDTH 75 YARDS. PATH LENGTH ONE QUARTER MILE.
TORNADO WAS ON THE GROUND FOR APPROXIMATELY ONE MINUTE.

AROUND 90 MPH. THERE WAS STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO A LARGE
BOAT STORAGE BARN...ANOTHER STORAGE SHED...AND A HOUSE.
MULTIPLE TREES WERE UPROOTED AS WELL.

METAL ROOF SECTIONS REMOVED. NUMEROUS TREES DOWN. NWS
STORM SURVEY TEAM DETERMINED THAT MICROBURST LANDED IN
WOODED AREA... TRAVELED SOUTHEAST THROUGH MOBILE
HOMES... CROSSED KY 80 AND DESTROYED BARN. WINDS
ESTIMATED 80 MPH.

80-85 MPH. PINE...ASH...AND OAK TREES WERE SNAPPED AND
UPROOTED ALONG THE PATH OF THE TORNADO.
