VALLEY INTO THE CENTRAL GREAT LAKES REGION THIS AFTERNOON AND
EVENING...

THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER IN NORMAN OK IS FORECASTING THE
DEVELOPMENT OF WIDESPREAD DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL OVER PARTS
OF THE MID MISSISSIPPI VALLEY INTO THE CENTRAL GREAT LAKES REGION
THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

THE AREAS MOST LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE THIS ACTIVITY INCLUDE

CENTRAL ILLINOIS
CENTRAL AND NORTHERN INDIANA
SOUTHEAST LOWER MICHIGAN
NORTHERN OHIO

ELSEWHERE...SEVERE STORMS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE OVER A LARGE AREA FROM
THE SOUTHERN PLAINS...ACROSS THE MID MISSISSIPPI AND OH
VALLEYS...INTO THE MID ATLANTIC REGION.

A LARGE CLUSTER OF THUNDERSTORMS IS CURRENTLY AFFECTING PORTIONS OF
MO. THESE STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE THROUGH THE DAY AND TRACK
RAPIDLY EAST-NORTHEASTWARD INTO IL/IND...OTHER INTENSE STORMS ARE
EXPECTED TO FORM OVER NORTHERN INDIANA BY LATE AFTERNOON AND SPREAD
INTO OHIO AND LOWER MICHIGAN. STRONG WINDS ALOFT AND MOIST/UNSTABLE
CONDITIONS WILL PROMOTE A RISK OF RATHER WIDESPREAD DAMAGING WINDS
AND LARGE HAIL.

STATE AND LOCAL EMERGENCY MANAGERS ARE MONITORING THIS DEVELOPING
SITUATION. THOSE IN THE THREATENED AREA ARE URGED TO REVIEW SEVERE
WEATHER SAFETY RULES AND TO LISTEN TO RADIO...TELEVISION...AND NOAA
WEATHER RADIO FOR POSSIBLE WATCHES...WARNINGS...AND STATEMENTS LATER
