DAY 3 CONVECTIVE OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
0215 AM CDT SAT SEP 03 2011
VALID 051200Z - 061200Z
...ERN GULF COAST STATES...
A HIGHLY MERIDIONAL UPPER-LEVEL TROUGH ASSOCIATED WITH THE REMNANTS
OF TROPICAL STORM LEE WILL MOVE SLOWLY EWD ACROSS THE OH AND TN
VALLEYS MONDAY. AHEAD OF THE TROUGH...AN AXIS OF MODERATE
INSTABILITY IS FORECAST TO DEVELOP MONDAY AFTERNOON ACROSS SE
AL...SCNTRL GA AND THE FL PANHANDLE WHERE SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS
THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD BE ONGOING DURING THE DAY. FORECAST SOUNDINGS
MONDAY AFTERNOON ACROSS THE WARM SECTOR SHOW STRONG LOW-LEVEL SHEAR
PROFILES SUGGESTING AN ISOLATED TORNADO THREAT COULD DEVELOP WITH
STORMS THAT ROTATE. HOWEVER...THE MAGNITUDE OF THE TORNADO THREAT
SHOULD DEPEND ON DESTABILIZATION AND WHETHER SOME OF THE STORMS CAN
REMAIN DISCRETE. A THREAT FOR DAMAGING WIND GUSTS MAY ALSO DEVELOP
ESPECIALLY IF LINE-SEGMENTS CAN INTENSIFY AND BECOME SOMEWHAT
ORGANIZED DURING THE AFTERNOON.
