DAY 4-8 CONVECTIVE OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
0358 AM CDT SAT SEP 03 2011

VALID 061200Z - 111200Z

THE MEDIUM RANGE MODELS START THE DAY 4 TO 8 PERIOD WITH AN
UPPER-LEVEL LOW OVER THE GULF COAST STATES ON TUESDAY/DAY 4. TO THE
EAST OF THE LOW...AN UNSTABLE AIRMASS IS FORECAST TO BE IN PLACE
ACROSS THE CAROLINAS TUESDAY AFTERNOON WHERE STRONG THUNDERSTORMS
COULD DEVELOP. THE MODELS LIFT THE LOW NWD INTO THE OH VALLEY ON
WEDNESDAY/DAY 5 AND DRIVE A COLD FRONT EWD ACROSS THE CAROLINAS
WHERE SOME THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY WILL BE POSSIBLE AGAIN ON
WEDNESDAY. THE COLD FRONT MOVES OFFSHORE BY THURSDAY/DAY 6 WITH THE
UPPER-LEVEL LOW REMAINING STATIONARY ACROSS THE OH VALLEY ON
FRIDAY/DAY 7. ALTHOUGH STRONG THUNDERSTORMS COULD OCCUR IN THE
CAROLINAS ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY...IT APPEARS THAT THE UPPER-LEVEL
PATTERN WILL NOT BE FAVORABLE FOR AN ENHANCED SEVERE THREAT DURING
THE DAY 4 TO 8 PERIOD.
