DAY 2 CONVECTIVE OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
1251 AM CST FRI NOV 11 2011

VALID 121200Z - 131200Z

...NO TSTM AREAS FORECAST...

...SYNOPSIS...
A SIZEABLE/FAST-MOVING SHORT-WAVE TROUGH ALOFT IS PROGGED TO DIG
SEWD ACROSS THE ROCKIES THIS PERIOD...MOVING INTO THE PLAINS STATES
THROUGH LATTER PORTIONS OF THE PERIOD. MEANWHILE...A CLOSED LOW
JUST OFF THE CA COAST IS EXPECTED TO MOVE MORE SLOWLY SEWD -- WITH
THE CENTER OF CIRCULATION FORECAST TO REMAIN OFFSHORE THROUGH THE
PERIOD.

AT THE SURFACE...A FAST-MOVING COLD FRONT ACCOMPANYING THE DIGGING
UPPER SHORT-WAVE TROUGH WILL SHIFT ACROSS THE ROCKIES AND EMERGE
INTO THE PLAINS. DESPITE THIS BEING A FAIRLY STRONG/FAST-MOVING
SYSTEM...INSUFFICIENT MOISTURE RETURN AHEAD OF THE SYSTEM SUGGESTS A
LACK OF INSTABILITY AND ASSOCIATED DEEP CONVECTIVE DEVELOPMENT.
