PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE
FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH

THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.

&&

DISCUSSION...SCATTERED DISCRETE STORM DEVELOPMENT IS NOW WELL
UNDERWAY ACROSS MUCH OF NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND...PERHAPS AIDED BY
FAVORABLE LARGE-SCALE ASCENT ON THE SOUTHERN PERIPHERY OF A SHORT
WAVE IMPULSE TURNING EASTWARD ACROSS QUEBEC. THIS IS WHERE 30-50 KT
WESTERLY 500 MB FLOW IS CONTRIBUTING TO SUFFICIENT SHEAR FOR
SUSTAINED ROTATION WITHIN UPDRAFTS. A FEW SUPERCELLS APPEAR
LIKELY...WITH AN ENHANCED RISK FOR SEVERE HAIL...AND A LOCALIZED
POTENTIALLY DAMAGING WIND GUSTS. AN ISOLATED TORNADO MAY NOT BE
COMPLETELY OUT OF THE QUESTION.

AVIATION...A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL SURFACE AND ALOFT
TO 2 INCHES. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND GUSTS TO 60
KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO 500. MEAN STORM
MOTION VECTOR 27025.
