DAY 1 CONVECTIVE OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
0742 AM CDT SUN MAR 09 2014

VALID 091300Z - 101200Z

...NO SVR TSTM AREAS FORECAST...

...SYNOPSIS...
A CLOSED MIDLEVEL LOW WILL MOVE SLOWLY SSEWD OVER NW MEXICO...WHILE
A SEPARATE NRN STREAM SHORTWAVE TROUGH MOVES INLAND TONIGHT OVER THE
PAC NW. CONDITIONALLY UNSTABLE LOW-MIDLEVEL LAPSE RATES AND WEAK
SURFACE-BASED BUOYANCY WILL BE SUFFICIENT FOR AN ISOLATED
THUNDERSTORM RISK IN THE ONSHORE FLOW REGIME ALONG THE SW WA/ORE
COASTS TONIGHT. OTHERWISE...THE INITIAL CONVECTION OVER S TX HAS
NOW PROGRESSED OFFSHORE WITH THE SURFACE COLD FRONT. HOWEVER...WEAK
ISENTROPIC UPGLIDE WILL RESUME LATER TODAY INTO TONIGHT ABOVE THE
SHALLOW FRONTAL SURFACE...CONTRIBUTING TO SUFFICIENT ASCENT AND
MIDLEVEL BUOYANCY FOR A FEW ELEVATED THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS S TX.
