THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

PARTS OF FLORIDA PANHANDLE
A LARGE PART OF GEORGIA
SMALL PART OF SOUTHERN NORTH CAROLINA
MUCH OF WESTERN AND CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA

EFFECTIVE THIS TUESDAY MORNING AND EVENING FROM 1000 AM UNTIL 700
PM EDT.

TORNADOES...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS
LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 80 STATUTE
MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 35 MILES NORTHEAST OF
SPARTANBURG SOUTH CAROLINA TO 50 MILES EAST SOUTHEAST OF PANAMA

REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR
TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.

OTHER WATCH INFORMATION...THIS TORNADO WATCH REPLACES TORNADO
WATCH NUMBER 865. WATCH NUMBER 865 WILL NOT BE IN EFFECT AFTER
1000 AM EDT.

DISCUSSION...REMNANTS OF FAY OVER NRN AL WITH 40-50KT OF LOW LEVEL
SHEAR ACROSS THE WATCH. VERY MOIST AND INCREASINGLY UNSTABLE AIRMASS
IN ADVANCE OF BANDS OF STORMS WRN GA PROVIDING FAVORABLE CONDITIONS
FOR EMBEDDED SUPERCELLS AND TORNADO POTENTIAL. ACTIVITY WILL
DEVELOP N AND E DURING THE AFTERNOON AS AIR MASS CONTINUES TO
DESTABILIZE.

AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH EXTREME
TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND GUSTS TO 60 KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI
WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO 500. MEAN STORM MOTION VECTOR 21030.
