SNOWFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR IN NRN OREGON CASCADES WILL
SPREAD SOUTHWARD THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF THE OREGON CASCADE RANGE
THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS AS SNOW ELEVATIONS DROP WITH PASSAGE OF
COLD FRONT.

STRONG UPPER SYSTEM FROM ERN PACIFIC IS JUST APPROACHING WESTERN
WASHINGTON/OREGON. INITIALLY...EXCEPT AT THE HIGHER
ELEVATIONS...ABOVE 6000 FT...THE PRECIPITATION WILL BE MAINLY RAIN.
BY 09 UTC...THE FORECAST TEMPERATURES INDICATE RATHER DRAMATIC
COOLING WITH SNOW LEVELS DROPPING THE REMAINDER OF THE NIGHT. AS
THE SNOW LEVELS DROP...THERE WILL POSSIBLY BE SEVERAL HOURS OF 2
INCH PER HOUR SNOWFALL RATES...TAPERING OFF TO 1 INCH PER HOUR IN
THE LOWER ELEVATIONS AS MOST OF THE SIGNIFICANT SNOW ENDS ACROSS THE
AREA BY 12 UTC.
