THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF
FAR WEST CENTRAL MINNESOTA
CENTRAL AND SOUTHEASTERN NORTH DAKOTA
EFFECTIVE THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON FROM 510 PM UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT.
TORNADOES...HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND
GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE
AREAS.
THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 105 STATUTE
MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 75 MILES SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF
JAMESTOWN NORTH DAKOTA TO 60 MILES NORTH NORTHEAST OF JAMESTOWN

REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR

THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.

CENTER NOW MOVING INTO CENTRAL ND. AIR MASS IS MODERATE TO STRONGLY
UNSTABLE EARLY THIS EVENING WITH WEAKENING CAP. DEEP LAYER SHEAR
REMAINS QUITE STRONG WITH EFFECTIVE SHEAR IN EXCESS OF 50 KT. IN
ADDITION...LOW LEVEL SHEAR SHOULD FAVOR LOW LEVEL ROTATION AND THE
POTENTIAL FOR TORNADOES...AS WELL AS LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS.
