THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF
CENTRAL NEBRASKA
SOUTH CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA
EFFECTIVE THIS THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY MORNING FROM 1005 PM
UNTIL 300 AM CDT.
HAIL TO 1.5 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 80
MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.
THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 105
STATUTE MILES EITHER SIDE OF A LINE FROM 30 MILES NORTH NORTHWEST
OF MULLEN NEBRASKA TO 30 MILES SOUTHEAST OF BURWELL NEBRASKA.

AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.

DISCUSSION...MATURING MCS NOW DEVELOPING ESEWD INTO CNTRL NE AND
SCNTRL SD WILL CONTINUE TO MAINTAIN THE THREAT OF HAIL AND DAMAGING
WINDS FOR AT LEAST A COUPLE MORE HOURS. PORTIONS OF THE MCS HAVE
BECOME DOMINATED BY EITHER OUTFLOW OR STRATIFORM MDT TO HVY RAIN.
HOWEVER...OUTFLOW INTERSECTIONS AND EMBEDDED ROTATING SEGMENTS
WITHIN THE COMPLEX WILL OCCASIONALLY POSE A THREAT FOR BOTH DAMAGING
WINDS AND HAIL.
