AREAS AFFECTED...WRN OK TO SCNTRL KS
CONCERNING...TORNADO WATCH 140...
VALID 310150Z - 310245Z
THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR TORNADO WATCH 140 CONTINUES.
..SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MAY BE REQUIRED FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTH
CENTRAL KS...
ROUGHLY FOUR MAIN SUPERCELLS PERSIST ACROSS CNTRL PORTIONS OF
TORNADO WATCH #140 FROM WASHITA COUNTY TO BLAINE COUNTY OK. THIS
ACTIVITY IS ONLY SLOWLY PROPAGATING EWD...WITH NWD DEVELOPMENT/LEFT
SPLITS CONSIDERABLY QUICKER. IT APPEARS LOW LEVEL WARM ADVECTION IS
BEGINNING TO INTENSIFY ACROSS THE SRN PLAINS AS SCATTERED SHOWERS
ARE NOW DEVELOPING ALONG THE KS/OK BORDER...JUST NE OF SFC WAVE.
LATEST RUC GUIDANCE SUGGESTS LLJ WILL INCREASE MARKEDLY OVER THE
NEXT FEW HOURS WHICH SHOULD MAINTAIN ONGOING ACTIVITY AS IT
PROPAGATES TOWARDS CNTRL OK. OF POTENTIALLY EQUAL SIGNIFICANCE WILL
BE THE NEW DEVELOPMENT THAT SHOULD OCCUR ACROSS SCNTRL KS LATER THIS
EVENING. 00Z SOUNDINGS FROM OUN AND LMN ARE STRONGLY SUPPORTIVE OF
SUPERCELL STRUCTURES...BUT WITH DECOUPLING EXPECTED OVER THE NEXT
FEW HOURS LARGE HAIL MAY BECOME THE PRIMARY SEVERE THREAT.
