THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF
NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS
CENTRAL NEBRASKA
EFFECTIVE THIS SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY MORNING FROM 1040 PM
UNTIL 400 AM CDT.
HAIL TO 1 INCH IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70
MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.
THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 45
STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 30 MILES NORTH OF
O'NEILL NEBRASKA TO 20 MILES SOUTHWEST OF HILL CITY KANSAS. FOR

REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE

AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.

MOISTURE/INSTABILITY AXIS. PRIOR TO THE WEAKENING OF THE
STORMS...DAMAGING WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO BE A THREAT IN CONJUNCTION
WITH STORM DOWNDRAFTS AND 50+ KT FLOW JUST ABOVE THE SURFACE.
AVIATION...A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL SURFACE AND ALOFT
