DAY 1 CONVECTIVE OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
0620 PM CST THU NOV 29 2007

VALID 300100Z - 301200Z

..NO TSTM AREAS FORECAST...

..PACIFIC NW...

COLD AIR ALOFT WITH -32C AT 500 MB ACCOMPANYING A VORT MAX DROPPING
SWD ALONG THE PACIFIC NW COAST IS CONTRIBUTING TO STEEP 700-500 MB
LAPSE RATES. HOWEVER...LIMITED LOW LEVEL MOISTURE IS RESULTING IN
VERY WEAK INSTABILITY WITH MUCAPE BELOW 200 J/KG. SCATTERED SHOWERS
WILL LIKELY CONTINUE IN THIS ENVIRONMENT THIS EVENING. HOWEVER...ANY
LIGHTNING PRODUCED BY THE CONVECTION IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN LESS THAN
10% COVERAGE AND MOSTLY OFFSHORE IF IT OCCURS AT ALL.

..FL...

SHOWERS DEVELOPING OVER FL ARE ASSOCIATED WITH WARM CLOUD PROCESSES
AND ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN TOO SHALLOW FOR LIGHTNING PRODUCTION DUE
THE PRESENCE OF A PRONOUNCED INVERSION BETWEEN 700 AND 500 MB.
