DAY 1 CONVECTIVE OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
1018 AM CST SUN NOV 04 2007

VALID 041630Z - 051200Z

..NO TSTM AREAS FORECAST...

..NRN PLAINS/NRN GREAT LAKES...
COOL...STABLE BOUNDARY LAYER IN WAKE OF STRONG COLD FRONT NOW WELL
OFF THE EAST COAST WILL PRECLUDE MOIST CONVECTION ACROSS MUCH OF THE
COUNTRY TODAY. EXCEPTION WILL BE WITH FAST MOVING...STRONG SYSTEM
GAINING AMPLITUDE AS IT CROSSES THE CANADIAN PRAIRIES AND NRN STATES
TODAY AND TONIGHT. SHALLOW MOIST CONVECTION MAY ACCOMPANY THIS COLD
FRONT OVER THE NRN PLAINS THIS AFTERNOON...BUT WILL BECOME MORE
WIDESPREAD AS COLD AID OVERSPREADS RELATIVELY WARMER WATER OVER THE
NRN GREAT LAKES. HERE...VERY STEEP LOW LEVEL LAPSE RATES IN POST
FRONTAL REGIME LATE TONIGHT COULD SUPPORT AN ISOLATED LIGHTNING
STRIKE AS SHALLOW...LAKE-EFFECT CONVECTION INCREASES /ESPECIALLY
OVER LAKE SUPERIOR INTO THE UP OF MI/. HOWEVER...OVERALL LIGHTNING
POTENTIAL REMAINS QUITE LOW.
