A COLD UPPER TROUGH WILL REMAIN OVER THE CENTRAL AND EASTERN UNITED
STATES TODAY...WHILE UPPER RIDGING BUILDS INTO THE SOUTHWEST STATES.
MODELS ARE IN AGREEMENT THAT STRONG MID LEVEL JET MAX OVER KY/TN
WILL DEVELOP EAST-NORTHEASTWARD TODAY INTO THE MID ATLANTIC REGION.
THE LEFT-EXIT REGION OF THIS JET WILL OVERSPREAD THE MID/UPPER OH
VALLEY THIS AFTERNOON...WHERE STEEP MID LEVEL LAPSE RATES AND COLD
TEMPERATURES ALOFT ARE FORECAST. LOW LEVEL MOISTURE WILL BE QUITE
SPARSE...BUT SUFFICIENT INSTABILITY MAY BE PRESENT FOR SHOWERS AND
ISOLATED LIGHTNING STRIKES ALONG A NARROW AXIS FROM SOUTHEAST IND TO
THE NJ/DE COAST. OVERALL COVERAGE OF THUNDERSTORMS IS ANTICIPATED
TO BE VERY LOW.

A WEAK SURFACE COLD FRONT IS SAGGING SOUTHWARD ACROSS THE FL
PENINSULA THIS MORNING. AHEAD OF THE FRONT...MOIST AND MODERATELY
UNSTABLE AIR IS PRESENT. SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE
BY EARLY AFTERNOON OVER THE SOUTHERN PENINSULA BEFORE FRONT MOVES
OFFSHORE TONIGHT. RATHER WEAK WIND FIELDS ARE EXPECTED TO PRECLUDE
A RISK OF SEVERE STORMS.
