SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF
SOUTHERN ALABAMA
WESTERN FLORIDA PANHANDLE
SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI
COASTAL WATERS
EFFECTIVE THIS TUESDAY MORNING FROM 515 AM UNTIL NOON CST.
HAIL TO 1 INCH IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70
MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.
THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 55
STATUTE MILES NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 50 MILES WEST
NORTHWEST OF MOBILE ALABAMA TO 45 MILES NORTH NORTHEAST OF
CRESTVIEW FLORIDA. FOR A COMPLETE DEPICTION OF THE WATCH SEE THE

REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE
FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY
DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.

LOW-LEVEL MOISTENING OVERNIGHT HAS RESULTED IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF
SURFACE-BASED INSTABILITY ACROSS SRN AL...WHERE LOCAL VWP/S SHOW 50
KT WSWLY FLOW WITHIN 1 KM OF THE GROUND. PRESENT INDICATIONS ARE
THAT DAMAGING WINDS WILL BE THE PRIMARY SEVERE STORM THREAT WITH
STORMS IN THE BAND...ALONG WITH ISOLATED LARGE HAIL.
AVIATION...A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL SURFACE AND ALOFT
TO 1 INCH. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND GUSTS TO 60 KNOTS.
