WATER VAPOR IMAGERY CURRENTLY SHOWS AN UPPER-LEVEL TROUGH OVER THE
CNTRL US WITH A WIDE PLUME OF MID-LEVEL MOISTURE EXTENDING NEWD
ACROSS THE SERN THIRD OF THE CONUS. SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS
THUNDERSTORMS ARE ONGOING IN THIS PLUME AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT
ORIENTED FROM THE CNTRL APPALACHIAN MTNS SWWD INTO THE LOWER MS
VALLEY. THE LARGEST AREA OF THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY EXISTS IN NC BUT
INSTABILITY HAS WEAKENED THERE SUBSTANTIALLY OVER THE LAST HOUR OR
SO. ELSEWHERE...THUNDERSTORM COVERAGE SHOULD GRADUALLY DECREASE IN
OVERALL COVERAGE AS INSTABILITY CONTINUES TO WEAKEN LATE THIS
EVENING. NONE OF THE ACTIVITY ACROSS THE CONUS IS EXPECTED TO BE
SEVERE TONIGHT.
