1132 AM CDT TUE APR 15 2008
VALID 151630Z - 161200Z
..NO SVR TSTM AREAS FORECAST...
..SYNOPSIS...
A BENIGN WEATHER PATTERN PERSISTS OVER THE CONUS WITH LOW-LEVEL
OFFSHORE FLOW ACROSS THE ATLANTIC COAST AND MUCH OF THE GULF COAST
IN THE WAKE OF THE MID LEVEL TROUGH MOVING EWD OFF THE SE ATLANTIC.
AN UPSTREAM MID LEVEL TROUGH IS MOVING INLAND OVER THE NRN GREAT
BASIN AND ROCKIES...AND WILL REACH THE CENTRAL ROCKIES AND NRN HIGH
PLAINS BY THE END OF THE PERIOD. STEEP MID LEVEL LAPSE RATES AND
WARM LOW-LEVEL TEMPERATURES IN A DOWNSLOPE LOW-LEVEL FLOW REGIME
WILL PRECEDE THE MID LEVEL TROUGH AND ITS ASSOCIATED COLD FRONT
ACROSS THE NRN PLAINS THROUGH TONIGHT. A DRY ENVIRONMENT WILL LIMIT
INSTABILITY THROUGH THE PERIOD WITH THIS SYSTEM. HOWEVER...VERY
MARGINAL BUOYANCY...AND AN ASSOCIATED THREAT FOR ISOLATED LIGHTNING
STRIKES...CAN BE EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON/EVENING OVER THE NRN
ROCKIES...AND OVERNIGHT ALONG THE BAROCLINIC ZONE ACROSS ERN ND/NW
MN.
