GRAND FORKS AIRPORT OBSERVERS AND LOCAL RESIDENTS VIEWED
A PERSISTENT FUNNEL AS IT MOVED EASTWARD TOWARDS GRAND
FORKS. THE FUNNEL LASTED FOR AROUND 10 MINUTES AND
DISSIPATED ABOUT 5 MILES WEST OF GRAND FORKS BY 1249 PM
CDT. SEVERAL OTHER BRIEF FUNNELS WERE REPORTED BETWEEN
HOOPLE AND THIEF RIVER FALLS TO THE NORTH...DAHLEN TO THE
WEST...AND GRANDIN TO THE SOUTH OF GRAND FORKS.

A PERSISTENT ROTATING WALL CLOUD PRODUCED A SHORT LIVED
FUNNEL AND BRIEF TORNADO. SOME METAL ROOFING WAS TORN OFF
A FARM BUILDING AND SEVERAL 8-10 INCH DIAMETER TREES WERE
SNAPPED OFF AT ONE FARMSTEAD. PEAK WINDS ESTIMATED TO 90
MPH. MAXIMUM WIDTH TO 40 YARDS WITH A TRACK LENGTH OF
ABOUT ONE QUARTER MILE.
