THE MOST SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE WAS CONCENTRATED AT A
DWELLING ALONG MAXWELL ROAD IN WESTERN SAMPSON
COUNTY...WHERE TREES WERE SNAPPED...A CARPORT WAS BLOWN
AND TWISTED INTO TREES...AND SHRUBS WERE PULLED FROM THE
GROUND. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE ESTIMATED WIDTH OF
THE TORNADO WAS 50 YARDS.

11/15/2008 F1 JOHNSTON NC NWS STORM SURVEY

THE TORNADO INITIALLY TOUCHED DOWN JUST OFF NOAH ROAD,
WHERE THERE WERE SEVERAL UPROOTED TREES. IT CROSSED WOOD
CROSSROADS, PRODUCING SIGNIFICANT ROOF DAMAGE TO ONE
DOUBLE-WIDE MOBILE HOME AND TEARING THE PORCH OFF A
SUBSTANTIAL BRICK SINGLE LEVEL HOME. THE TORNADO THEN
CONTINUED NORTH-NORTHWEST PRODUCING MINOR DAMAGE ON FIVE
POINTS ROAD TO A DOUBLE WIDE MOBILE HOME AND OTHER MINOR
DAMAGE TO SHEDS AND STORAGE BUILDINGS. THE TOTAL PATH
LENGTH WAS ONE MILE.

11/15/2008 F0 JOHNSTON NC NWS STORM SURVEY

THE TORNADO TRACKED FOR THREE MILES, INITIALLY TOUCHING
DOWN NEAR DAUGHTRY ROAD SOUTH OF US HWY 70 AND FINALLY
LIFTING ALONG COUNTRY STORE ROAD. A TRAVEL TRAILER WAS
OVERTURNED AND SEVERAL HOMES SUFFERED SIGNIFICANT LOSS OF
SHINGLES AND SIDING. THREE HOMES ALSO HAD THEIR CHIMNEYS
DESTROYED BY THE WIND. OTHER DAMAGE TO A BARN AND HORSE
TRAILER WAS NOTED ALONG WITH NUMEROUS DOWNED TREES.

11/15/2008 F2 JOHNSTON NC NWS STORM SURVEY

*** 1 FATAL, 2 INJ *** AT LEAST 10 HOMES WERE SEVERELY
DAMAGED TO DESTROYED IN THE KENLY AREA NEAR THE
INTERSECTION OF SCOTT ROAD AND BRIDGERS ROAD. CARS HAVE
BEEN OVERTURNED. AS THE TORNADO CROSSED SCOTT ROAD, A
DOUBLE-WIDE MOBILE HOME WAS REMOVED FROM ITS FOUNDATION
AND FLIPPED APPROXIMATELY 50 FEET. A 60 YEAR OLD FEMALE
OCCUPANT OF THIS MOBILE HOME WAS KILLED. TWO OTHER
INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE TORNADO PATH LENGTH WAS
AROUND FOUR AND A HALF MILES.

0330 AM TORNADO 3 WSW ELM CITY 35.79N 77.91W
11/15/2008 F3 WILSON NC NWS STORM SURVEY

*** 1 FATAL, 4 INJ *** A HOUSE WAS DESTROYED AT 3850
LONDON CHURCH ROAD WHERE ONE FATALITLY WAS CONFIRMED.
ACROSS THE ROAD FROM THIS HOME TO THE NORTHEAST...THE
UPPER PORTION OF A HOME WAS DESTROYED...AND ANOTHER HOME
HAD A ROOF COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY WITH TREES ON TOP OF IT.
OTHER HOMES AND BUILDINGS ALONG THE TORNADOS EIGHT MILE
PATH SUFFERED MINOR TO MODERATE DAMAGE. NUMEROUS TREES
AND POWER LINES WERE DOWNED AS WELL. FOUR INJURIES WERE
REPORTED.

11/15/2008 EDGECOMBE NC LAW ENFORCEMENT

A LARGE TREE WAS UPROOTED AND SMASHED A PARKED VEHICLE ON
DRAUGHN ROAD.
