THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF
NORTHWEST ARKANSAS
EASTERN OKLAHOMA
EFFECTIVE THIS TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 245 PM UNTIL
1000 PM CST.
TORNADOES...HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND
GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE
AREAS.
THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 80 STATUTE
MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 25 MILES EAST OF DURANT
OKLAHOMA TO 40 MILES EAST NORTHEAST OF BARTLESVILLE OKLAHOMA.

THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS

DISCUSSION...THUNDERSTORMS ARE SLOWLY INCREASING IN WARM ADVECTION
REGIME ACROSS SOUTHEAST OK. MEANWHILE...LINE OF SUPERCELLS IS
INTENSIFYING OVER CENTRAL OK. BOTH AREAS OF STORMS WILL SPREAD
ACROSS THE WATCH AREA THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. LOW LEVEL WIND
FIELDS ARE FORECAST TO STRENGTHEN AND BECOME QUITE FAVORABLE FOR
SUPERCELLS AND TORNADOES THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. DAMAGING WINDS
AND LARGE HAIL WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE.
AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 2 INCHES. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE
WIND GUSTS TO 60 KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO
450. MEAN STORM MOTION VECTOR 23035.
