EF0 TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN NORTH OF HIGHWAY 14 AND MOVED
NORTHWARD THROUGH RURAL AREAS BEFORE ENDING 5 MILES SSE
OF ROANOKE. SEVERAL POWER LINES AND POWER POLES WERE
DOWNED ALONG HIGHWAY 380 AND LYONS ROAD. NUMEROUS
EYEWITNESSES WATCHED AND PHOTOGRAPHED THE TORNADO. TOTAL
PATH LENGTH OF 5 MILES WITH A PATH WIDTH OF 50 YARDS.

*** 1 INJ *** A LARGE MULTIVORTEX TORNADO BEGAN SOUTH OF
HWY 90 WEST OF JENNINGS AND MOVED NORTHWARD BEFORE ENDING
ALONG HWY 395 SOUTHWEST OF ELTON. THE TORNADO WAS UP TO
ONE HALF MILE WIDE EARLY IN THE PATH BEFORE NARROWING
NORTH OF I-10. A TRACTOR TRAILER RIG WAS BLOWN INTO THE
MEDIAN OF I-10 INJURING THE DRIVER. NUMEROUS TREES AND
POWER POLES WERE BLOWN DOWN ALL ALONG THE PATH WITH
SEVERAL HOMES AND OUTBUILDINGS RECEIVING MINOR DAMAGE.
TOTAL PATH LENGTH OF 16 MILES WITH A MAX PATH WIDTH OF
1/2 MILE.

ANOTHER LARGE HIGH END EF0 TORNADO BEGAN SOUTH OF DAN
BULLER ROAD AND MOVED NORTHWARD THROUGH ELTON. TREES AND
A BARN WERE HEAVILY DAMAGED ON DAN BULLER ROAD. AS THE
TORNADO MOVED ACROSS ELTON NUMEROUS LARGE TREES AND POWER
LINES WERE BLOWN DOWN WITH DAMAGE TO 15 HOMES. THE WORST
DAMAGE OCCURRED NORTH OF HWY 190 BETWEEN WASHINGTON
STREET AND LANGLEY ROAD. THE TORNADO DISSIPATED NORTH OF
ELTON ALONG BULLER ROAD. TOTAL PATH LENGTH OF 5 MILES
WITH A MAX PATH WIDTH OF 1/2 MILE.
