DAY 1 CONVECTIVE OUTLOOK
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
0636 PM CST WED JAN 27 2010
VALID 280100Z - 281200Z
...NO SVR TSTM AREAS FORECAST...
...SWRN U.S...
DEEP CONVECTION HAS STRUGGLED TO SPREAD/DEVELOP NORTH OF THE MEXICAN
BORDER THIS EVENING...PRIMARILY DUE TO WEAK INSTABILITY ON THE U.S.
SIDE. 00Z SOUNDINGS FROM TUS...EPZ AND DRT SUGGEST AIRMASS HAS
CONSIDERABLE MOISTENING/COOLING ALOFT BEFORE SUBSTANTIAL INSTABILITY
DEVELOPS THAT WOULD SUPPORT CONVECTION CAPABLE OF GENERATING
LIGHTNING. WITH TIME IT APPEARS ELEVATED CONVECTION WILL BEGIN TO
SPREAD NEWD INTO WEST TX...ESPECIALLY AS LLJ INTENSIFIES LATE ACROSS
THE EDWARDS PLATEAU REGION. BUOYANCY SHOULD REMAIN TOO WEAK TO
SUPPORT HAIL AND ANY SIGNIFICANCE.
