...UT...
MORNING SATELLITE IMAGERY SHOWS A MID LEVEL SHORTWAVE TROUGH
TRACKING SOUTHEASTWARD ACROSS MT/ID. THIS FEATURE IS EXPECTED TO
PROGRESS ACROSS PARTS OF THE GREAT BASIN TODAY BEFORE CROSSING THE
CENTRAL ROCKIES TONIGHT. COLD TEMPERATURES ALOFT AND STEEP LAPSE
RATES WILL ACCOMPANY THE SYSTEM...LEADING TO THE RISK OF SCATTERED
AFTERNOON SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS PORTIONS OF CENTRAL/SRN
UT TODAY.

...TX...
MODELS ARE IN REASONABLE AGREEMENT THAT A LOW-AMPLITUDE SOUTHERN
STREAM SHORTWAVE TROUGH WILL MOVE ACROSS NORTHERN MEXICO TODAY AND
APPROACH SOUTH TX BEFORE FRI MORNING. SOUTHERLY LOW LEVEL WINDS
OVER THE WESTERN GULF OF MEXICO WILL HELP TO MOISTEN/DESTABILIZE
COASTAL AREAS OF DEEP SOUTH TX. INCREASING FORCING FOR ASCENT MAY
LEAD TO SCATTERED SHOWERS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS OFF THE LOWER TX
COAST BEFORE 19/12Z...WITH SOME CHANCE OF THESE STORMS AFFECTING THE
IMMEDIATE COAST. NO SEVERE STORMS ARE EXPECTED TODAY.
