THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF
CENTRAL AND EASTERN FLORIDA PANHANDLE
SOUTHERN GEORGIA
COASTAL WATERS
EFFECTIVE THIS THURSDAY EVENING FROM 605 PM UNTIL 1000 PM EDT.
TORNADOES...HAIL TO 1 INCH IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS
TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.
THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 75 STATUTE
MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 65 MILES NORTHWEST OF WAYCROSS
GEORGIA TO 40 MILES SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF TALLAHASSEE FLORIDA. FOR

REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR
TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH
AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.

PM EDT. CONTINUE...WW 66...WW 67...
DISCUSSION...LOW CAPE/HIGH SHEAR ENVIRONMENT WILL PERSIST THROUGH
THE EVENING ACROSS THIS REGION IN ADVANCE OF SURFACE COLD FRONT
ADVANCING INTO CENTRAL GA/WRN FL PANHANDLE AT 22Z. WV IMAGERY
INDICATES LARGE SCALE ASCENT WILL PERSIST ACROSS THIS REGION AND
POSSIBLY SUSTAIN DEEP MOIST CONVECTION WITHIN MARGINAL INSTABILITY.
SHEAR WILL ALSO REMAIN MORE THAN ADEQUATE FOR LOW-TOPPED SUPERCELLS
AND POSSIBLY SMALL BOW ECHOES. DAMAGING WINDS AND AN ISOLATED
TORNADO OR TWO WILL BE PRIMARY THREATS.
AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 1 INCH. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND
GUSTS TO 60 KNOTS. A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO 400.
