THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF
MIDDLE TENNESSEE
EFFECTIVE THIS SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY MORNING FROM 1020 PM
UNTIL 500 AM CDT.
TORNADOES...HAIL TO 1.5 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND
GUSTS TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE
AREAS.
THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 60 STATUTE
MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 35 MILES NORTH OF NASHVILLE
TENNESSEE TO 60 MILES SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF NASHVILLE TENNESSEE.

REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR

AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.

DISCUSSION...ISOLATED SUPERCELLS WILL PERSIST ALONG RETREATING WARM
FRONT/OUTFLOW BOUNDARY ACROSS MIDDLE TN. VERTICAL SHEAR WILL BE
SUFFICIENT FOR TORNADOES WITH STORMS INTERACTING WITH THE BOUNDARY.
OTHERWISE...LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING GUSTS WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH
SLIGHTLY ELEVATED STORMS N OF THE BOUNDARY.
AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 1.5 INCHES. EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE
