THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF
EASTERN KANSAS
WESTERN AND CENTRAL MISSOURI
EFFECTIVE THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 1250 PM UNTIL
700 PM CDT.
HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70
MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.
THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 55
STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 30 MILES NORTHWEST OF
KIRKSVILLE MISSOURI TO 100 MILES SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF KNOB NOSTER

REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE

AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR
THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS
AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY

ACROSS MO. MID LEVEL WINDS 25-35KT WILL STRENGTHEN AS THE STORMS
DEVELOP AND LEND SUPPORT FOR QUASI-ORGANIZED/PERSISTENT STORM
CLUSTERS AND BANDS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WINDS. SCATTERED
HAIL WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE FROM A FEW OF THE MORE INTENSE CELLS.
AVIATION...A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL SURFACE AND ALOFT
